Help connecting an IP address to basic home PC network

I have an external HDD with an IP address of 192.168.0.220 (HDD from set top box). I've physically connected it to my wireless router (DI-624) and I want to see/move/copy contents from/to the HDD (192.168.0.220).

How would I go about connecting this IP address so I can see it?

So far, I've tried going through 'Add Network Place' by typing 'ftp://192.168.0.220' but that doesn't work. I've also tried typing in \\192.168.0.220\ into the address of a folder, no good either.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Try this \\192.168.0.220 in Internet explorer URL...

How is this drive connected to the Ethernet cable? Or is it USb to the router? Is it made to do this? How are you powering it?

Tried this but doesn't work.

I've now managed to get a little further, to the point I can access the HDD with ftp but keep getting 2 errors (227 & 553) when trying to move/copy a file into it. Here it is...
