Help! Cannot delete stubborn file!

I was screwing around with my minecraft.jar file and extracted it to a separate folder. I was done with everything, and decided to delete it. All files were deleted except one: 'aux.class'.

It displayed an error message that said "File is too large for destination file system." I've learned that windows doesn't allow you to delete files named 'aux' because that's the name of some special driver. Is there any way to get past this?

I can't rename it or delete it, AND it now is saying that I don't have the permission to make changes to it, even though I'm the administrator, and there are no other accounts. Who do I need permission from? Bill Gates? My mom?

Please help me with this issue. I'm running Win 7 64 bit.

Download file assassin and use it to delete the file. If you have malwarebytes installed, file assassin is included with it.

boot into a linux live disk and delete it. viola.
I'm a dumbass, could you explain a little more as to what that means? I already have Linux (ubuntu) installed, dual-boot... I'll boot into that and see if I can find the file there and delete it.

I've tried that, it tells me that I don't have permission to open the file. When I try to edit the file's properties under the Security tab, It says "You do not have permission to view or edit this object's permission settings". This is obviously wrong, as I am both the Admin and the only account on the machine.

Boot into Ubnutu then. Mount the windows partition. FInd the file, and delete it. Not really much to it.

Couldn't get past some scary command line screen, typed 'boot' but said that there's no linux kernel installed.

As for john, I rebooted and the problem still persists, even after using file assassin.

Boot to a livecd, choose "try ubuntu," locate the file on your windows partition, and delete it.

Lost you on boot to a livecd. I download the ISO from the site, load it on a cd with something like InfraRecorder, boot from it, and bam, right?

Yes, it'll give you an option to install ubuntu or try it. Choose try it and you should boot to ubuntu and see your windows partition.

Right click on the file. Go to properties, hit secury, then advanced, move to the owner tab. Change the owner to yourself, then grant full control.

You might have to do this on the folder that the file lives in and check "replace owner on subcontainers" or similar to propagate the changes down to the file.

After that you should be able to rename and delete it.
