Help building my frist gaming pc

hey ppl im new here nd this is my first post on a forum ever anyway iv just started gaming on my pc that i won and realised it sucked my pc that is nd i really want to build a good rig but i have know idea wot to do i have a budget of bout $600 Australian at the moment but will have more money soon here are my specs...

Intel Core 2 duo E4600 2.4GHz 2MB Cache
3GB DDR2 667MHz Memory
302GB sata 3GB/s Hard Disk
Nvidia Geforce 8500GT 512Mb DCI-E
32-Bit Vista primium

any suggestions would be of great help

Gaming wise, your main limitation is the video card. If you upgrade that you'd have a reasonably good gaming system. You may also need to upgrade your power supply to handle an upgraded video card, you haven't listed it there.

You might even want to look at overclocking the CPU somewhat as well. With a $600 AUD budget, I would suggest upgrading the current system instead of building another - a new $600 system wouldn't perform much better.

thx yer i won the pc so i thought id upgrade it kinda left that out nd i have no idea wot kinda of power supply i got. anyways any suggestions on a video card iv got no idea wots new,old,good,crap,or wot will run wif the rest of the stuff thats in there.
