Hello I am brand new in here, and brand new at Windows 8. First up I thought to myself what have I done here. Now after 3 or 4 weeks it is all coming together.
Got my first computer in 1999, so have a slight grasp on things for an old bloke.

My first question is::
I have a Telstra plan whereby I get a 100 Gbts per month, and only use around 6 to 12 Gbts per month, as our computer is only for a bit of fun for an old couple. Is there an simple, easy way I could use say another 60 or 70 Gbts to make a dollar?
I am not thinking about a large complicated business, but just something that requires about 3 to 5 hrs a day on week days.
If the response is negative that's not a problem as I will just go on wearing out the Spider Solitaire program.

If you don't use that much data then maybe reduce your plan if its possible. Extreme couponing comes to mind in order to save money.

Are you asking if you can take the unused portion of your 100GB plan and sell it somehow? If so, no, but you can see if your ISP has a cheaper plan.

Hi everybody, I was on a $98 / Month plan and went up to this $100 / Month plan.
It is only a couple of dollars / Month cheaper, but I get free landline to anywhere and mobiles, and a cheaper bill every month. With the change over I went from 25 Mbts to 100 Mbts / Month of Internet usage, and that is not a problem, but I was wondering if it is a simple matter to make a dollar out of the excess Mbts.
This all happened because I read somewhere that you should ask your supplier every 2 or 3 years if there is a better option than your current plan. This makes sense in this changing world.

Most people don't have to worry about caps on their home ISP use, the ones that do have caps are usually higher than 100GB anyways, so I wouldn't expect there to be much of a market for an extra 60-70GB per month.

As far as selling, think of it as your phone or similar. You can proxy traffic through it from other locations but you can't really 'sell' portions of your plan like minutes or MB to other people.

You could also think of it as why would someone need to get through your connection through the Internet to get to the Internet if they're already on the Internet.

beers, I wasn't thinking about selling so much as maybe answering questions etc for internet sellers or other businesses.
Anyway I will forget that one for now as everything is cruising along nicely.
Now my next challenge is to get a Signature on my Windows Live Mail, which I installed onto my new Windows 8.
