i have just set up lan and i was wondering if there was a program out there that allows me to chat in games like advanced warfighter, like chat to the other person playin lan with me so we can command each other.

thanks

if u have the internet lol u can use something like Skype to talk to another person while u play. i know there are other programs but i dont personally play those types of games where its really useful to me, but i know they do make them. atleast if what ur thinking is like what im thinking

found one, its call ventilo if anyone is interested. you have to make a server one one of the comps then both join it, very neat program, no net required.

I know ventrillo... i use it when playing World of Warcraft. ;)
it runs a lot less hardware intensive as Teamspeak, so you can run it while playing a game more easely.

Actually, I meant Ventrillo. I just got the names mixed up, haha

I've used both Teamspeak and SideWinder Game Voice Share in the past. The method you have detailed with the server/client setup is very common amongst software.

Teamspeak or Ventrillo are both great programs and the best it is that they are also free xD. personally ii prefur Teamspeak, but everyone has their own preference.

teamspeak...that was the one i was thinking of, my friends use that for alot of the games they play. i would too if only i had time lol

i just dont have a headset but i have the ASUS mic that came with my MOBO, but it picks up too much of the surround sound. and i cant use a USB headset because i still want 5.1 surround sound

That's the problem I faced as well, with the mic picking up the speaker's output and sending that through the chat software. Myself and the people I used to play with resorted to seperate headphones and mics, which since I can enjoy the CMSS-3DHeadphone of my X-fi sound card, hasn't been too much of a problem.

my array mic is suppose to have a a little cone like thing to where it only pics up sound from the cone location and no surrounding speakers
