No its not, when you plug in the headset it becomes you main sound output, therefore all the sound goes to it. There is probably some was to change it, same thing happens to me, but I just unplug my headset.

...Since when? Plugging in a USB headset is like plugging in speakers, all of your computer's sound goes through them.

thats stupid, only the sounds from programs you want should go through the headset. kinda makes my speakers useless then

i dont know about USB, but when you plug in normal headsets, they're just like speakers. Computers can't tell them apart since they use the same jacks on the soundcard.

USB is the same, it's not that stupid either. A headset (USB, or 3.5mm) is just headphones with a microphone attached.

On cable speakers you can plug the headsets, the mic or both. You should have gotten cable.
No he has a usb headset, when you plug it in it recognizes the usb cable as the sound device not a soundcard.

You cannot send to seperate outputs like that. Well you can but there are so many problems with it it is nor worht it.

Do what I did,
By an additional Sound card (set as primary if Audigy 2 or comparable or secondary if a cheapy), and use the main speakers on the primary sound card, and teamspeak on the secondary ones.

Works very very well.
