headphones for $100

Hey all, my roommate is looking for a good pair of headphones. He is a radio/broadcasting major and does a lot of work analyzing music and sounds. His budget is $100. He picked out these:

But I don't know that much about headphones. Any help? Better suggestions?

Ask him if he can stretch his budget for some Audio-Technica ATH-AD700's

They are great and will beat the sennheisers he selected. It also comes with a 3.5mm to 6.3mm audio jack adapter, if he's using older equipment.
