When I try to plug my headphones in to play games, it doesnt work. I plug it in and the sound still goes through my speakers and not through my headphones. Does anyone have any idea as to why this wont work??? thanks...

Where are you plugging them into... the front port on the front of your PC, the jack on the front of your speaker system or the port at the back fo the machine?

....

My speakers at plugged in at he back of my tower, im trying to plug my headphones into the jack that is in the front of my tower!

Sounds like it's either connected and having issues deciding which to send to, or the front ports aren't connected to anything.

Make sure the front audio header wire is connected to the header on the motherboard........check that and then if that isn't the case then I dunno

My system does the same thing as well. I just turn my speakers down when I use headphones or I plug my headphones directly into my speakers.

...

Problem is my speakers dont have a headphone jack in them, only in the front of my tower and in the back. My headphones are not long enough to fit in the back...does anyone have any suggestions on how I can manually solve this?

ya, connect the headphone jack to the motherboard/sound card

open the bish up and take a look. It's likely not connected to anything.

they even sell a pack at radio shack that includes a splitter, 1/2" to 1/4" converter jack, 1/2" to mono jack, and an extension cord for like $10.
