My laptop has a HDMI port and my projector has a DVI-D port. I tried connecting the two using a HDMI to DVI-D adaptor/converter but the projector still does not see the laptop. How can I resolve this issue?

What adapter did you buy? Something that plugs into the DVI port of the projector or some type of HDMI adapter for the laptop?

I bought a DVI-D male to HDMI female adapter, the DVI-D male plugs into the projector and I used a standard HDMI male to HDMI male to plug directly into the laptop and the other end into the adaptor.
