Hey guys,

Say i made my spare rig in sig into a HTPC...but minus the 8800GT as its too big to fit in my small htpc case i have.

If i used this card instead...

Obviusly id use the HDMI on that card to send the picture from the HTPC to my TV.....but would it also do the sound through HDMI? from the pc to the TVs speakers?

Tks

hey mate thanks for replying, down the bottom of that page he says he got it working...

well i just did a fresh install of windows 7 and hdmi+sound worked right off the bat i haven't even installed any drivers yet and its working perfectly

BUMP.....anyone confirm that HDMI can output sound to TV speakers?

it doesnt have to be that card...i was also looking at other cheap cards with HDMI suchas the 8400GS.....it can be any card as long as it has HDMI and is Pci-e. :):good:

It can but there is a special feature on your motherboard that you have to install right. Let me dig around, I did an HTPC for my brother a few months ago and had a bitch of a time getting it to work. Basically, there is a pin on your motherboard that you have to set to allow some sort of a 'passthrough' mode for the audio to output through hdmi. Again, let me dig around.
