ok new to the site and was wondering if anyone could help me out with a problem i am having. ok well here it goes i am trying to create a movie with windows movie maker and when i try to import my videos by from MY VIDEOS the window shows nothing to import no files, but if i go to the start menu then my documents then to my videos the video clips are there and cant figure out why they are not in the my video section when i try to import them to movie maker if anyone has a clue of how to help me id much appreciate it

when you import them on the bottom of the box where you chose the videos to import have you clicked "All files" if not, do that and it will show everything in that file
ok yes i did that an a box appeared that say
the file c:/document and settings/compaq_owner/my documents/my videos/sm1.mod is not a supported file type,and can not be imported to movie maker
not sure what that means or how to fix it not great with the computer not really sure how i even go the video onto the computer to be honest
excuse my lack of knoledge with computers but what do you mean by extension?
were would i find this when i follow the steps given to me above i find each mivie clip in the my video file and each clip says movo06d and the next clip is mov06e and so on. when i double click on the movo06d icon it plays on windows media player
again sorry i am horrible with the computer

I know you figured it out, but just for future reference the extension for the about file "sm1" would be ".mod"
