Having sound problems.

I recently reformatted my hard drive and when going back and reinstalling everything, I noticed that my speakers were no longer working. I checking my sound settings and my computer wasn't even recognizing that a sound card was installed.
The problem is, I am almost 100% sure I did not install a sound card when I built my PC, I simply used the motherboards built in sound card. From what I remember the first day I put everything together, the speakers just worked when I plugged them in. I'm wondering what I need to do to get my computer to recognize the speakers that I'm trying to use.
 
If your sure you don't have a PCI soundcard then you are using the Motherboards onboard soundcard. Now you need to find your Motherboards soundcard drivers and install them and then your speakers should work.
