Having a small problem hooking up the new computer

F1-1394 AND F2-1394 on my GA-EX58-UD5 mobo and a 1394 cord coming from my Antec 900 mid tower. I'm fairly sure the cord coming from the case goes into the F1, but can't find anything in the instructions. I am right though ain't I, just wanna make sure. Also the same idea with my usb cord coming from case going into the F_USB1 instead of the F_USB2. One last thing, I also have a AC'97 and a HD Audio cord coming from case but the mobo has one f_audio hookup so which cord do i use? the mobo instructions say to refer to the case book but it didn't come with one

ok I've done the above...but have not turned the computer on yet...first since this is my first build i want to know if there are any bad sounds or anything i need to be aware of before turning it on. also after i turn it on do i just load the windows disk and install or is there more to it?
 
Maybe go into your BIOS and configure to match your hardware and o/s you intend to install.

If anything is wrong when you first boot up the computer let out a series of beeps. if not you should see it POST
 
ok very last thing before i turn it on....i have a wd 640 hard drive that needs to be plugged in as well as a plextor optical drive...do i plug them in 9 or 10 or does it not matter just like the 1394 and the usb

I hope you got the firewire and usb connectors on the right header, it does matter which one you hook it up to.
 
Firewire cable in either connector labeled 18 in your diagram. USB cable in either connector labeled 17 in your diagram. The pin layout is the same for each but you can't interchange the 2.
 
ok that was what i meant in the beginning we must of had a misunderstanding. do you know about which out of the 9 and 10 to plug in a hard drive and optical drive?

it doesnt matter which one you plug your sata hd and cd drive into
