Have no sound anymore

I need some help with my sound - i know I have a sound card on the motherboard as i have always had sound before. We had a tech come in and fix our pc and since then we have no sound. he has yet to come out and fix it, he said all we need to do is activate the sound card? How do i go about doing this? Any advice is appreciated..

My guess is he re-installed windows which dosent have the right sounds drivers, go to start>control panel>add hardware> search for new hardware>select yes its all ready installed> then view from list what has not been installed (its in bold) then find the drivers on the net, go to the motherboard site and they will have the download there.

Win95/98, Win NT Chipset Drivers. Now then, i dont know which operating system your using, but they dont have an xp driver, so i personally think the NT one would be your best bet for it. But then again, the driver ofr it might be bundled in with the chipset driver, who knows. Id try with the NT one first (assuming your not using 95/98) because most drivers work with NT/2000/XP
