Hard Drive compatible with my motherboard?

Hello guys, I have an AS Rock 775 dual vista card.

With all the different hard drive, I was wandering if there is a certain kind that I need to buy? For example, I look on newegg and I see a lot. Such as

SATA
ATA
ATA-6
IDE
etc..

Is there like a certain or specific one I need to get? Thanks, all help is appreciated.

Basically any common hard drive on the market should work with that board, but you probably want to look for an SATA.

Why I buy so small? Well, I have an external 500gb; I am planning to run the native OS and just programs on the internal one (in the link) and the external is used for all my other stuff.

Does anyone know or can tell me if this is efficient? Any downsides or anything?
I have a core 2 duo with 2gb dual channel ddr2667. Thanks.

Yes, that drive will work fine. It's more than big enough for windows and some programs. It will run out of space if you are installing a bunch of games on it though.
