hi,
i have had a kodak 4200 2 meg camera for some years now hooked up to my wifes HP pc, with the dock, and last month the computer just stoped taking info from it.
so i:
a) put the connection directly into the camera,
b) changed usb points
c) loaded kodak software on my AMD 3500 64bit, same problem, camera said it had photos on it, but software said it cant read!
d) tried to clean all points on leads.
e)both computers 'saw' the camera as a HDD and assigned a drive letter, but denied access(i used to ba able before the dock cimply cut/paste onto my HDD)

all failed. user manual said to return for repair, as if...

wanted this camera for kids, we might get a new 5 meg.

thanx in advanced

My two cents on this is that some part of the camera's management chip's gone boom:( unless there's some sort of lock or switch or setting that prevents deletion or removal of pics from the camera that's been accidentally activated.
I know it's no help at all here (because you'd probably lose any saved pix) but maybe a reset (if available) would right this.
Do you have a removeable card on that camera? If so, do you or someone you know have a card reader built into a PC?
Tom
