Great Sound Card for the value

I see all these cards and truly I have no idea what I'm truly looking at. What is the stuff I should be looking at? And please point me in the right direction of which sound card would be best. AND speaker. These are the sound card and speakers I was looking at getting..

do you really need a soundcard?
i used a creative soundblaster audigy 2, and it was worse than the onboard on my current 790fx motherboard, i'm sure you're 780i has decent onboard..
i've never heard of that brand card before. speakers are nice though.

I haven't really heard of that company, I would be nervous buying that card. Many small unheard of companies don't have very good customer service or warranty plans. This is the card I have and it absolutely pounds my Logitech speakers.

It's small and cheap, offers 7.1 support. I have a 3 speaker 5.1 Logitech system and it has crystal clear sound. Affordable setup with great quality sound.
