GPS and Bluetooth interference

I bought a cool little device for my car that pairs with my phone on Bluetooth and transmits into the car radio for music and as a hands-free kit. Problem is, whenever it's on, my RoadAngel Gem speed camera detector won't find the satellites! Now I'm dozy as hell and not a very good driver, so I kind of need the thing! :D

Is there any way to get the two devices to just get along with each other?

I don't know what a RoadAngel Gem speed camera detector is, but Googling it appears to be like a radar detector that we use in the states.

I imagine that due to the frequencies used by Bluetooth and the speed cameras there will be a conflict. The frequencies are in the 2.4 GHz band for Bluetooth. If you have an option in Bluetooth to change a channel I would try that, but I have Bluetooth and never seen a channel selector. I think Bluetooth 4.0 may reduce interference.
