Google physics?

has anyone noticed the Google logo today is made of coloured balls that seem to get larger and go outwards when you run your mouse over them? What is this supposed to signify, or are google just trying to prove how clever they are?

I have no idea what it is for but it is kinda fun to play with.

Ain't it just :P It seems to be different on other web browsers. Chrome does it as I said in the OP. whereas for example IE has lots of tiny balls, (OK, that sounds dodgy) I haven't tried FF, safari, or opera yet.
 
It's like sheepdog trials and the mouse is the dog, so scatter them and pull one out and stop it getting back to the herd. :o I know, I'm a saddo
