Hi all,
I was wondering if there was a way to get the audio from my tv to my computer. I have a thoery but dont know if it will work.
I have adobe soundbooth CS4 installed and can easily just "turn on the mic" and let it record. BUT, I would like the most crisp audio I can get.
I was wondering, can I use a male/male headphone jack? I would plug one end into my receiver while the movie plays, the other end into my mic jack in my laptop. Then, I would record from soundbooth. Will, this work? Is it possible?

I have run audio from my Home Stereo to record music - using an extended length of RCA cables to microphone jack on my PC. I use an adapter to convert the two RCA cables to a stereo microphone jack.

I'm pretty sure you have to use a "line-in" port. That's been my experience on desktops with onboard audio at least.

Right, the problem with doing this is that ideally you would use a line in audio jack, which most laptops don't have, although I believe you should be able to use the microphone jack.

Oh didnt notice laptop. On mine you can disable the "mic in" and turn on "hd stereo in" and use the mic jack. Mine has a sound card though, rather than onboard.

Line into one of these - plugged into your Microphone Jack

There are cheaper cords - but the concept should work
