Hokay, Got this compie in a garage sale but i need a gfx card.

Mother board is Asus A7V266-E: http://www.active-hardware.com/english/reviews/mainboard/a7v266-e.htm

I was hoping to use a Geforce 6200: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814133177

I am running ubuntu linux.

Will it work? Why is the 6200 so cheap? Any reason why I shouldnt get it? If so please recomend another card for under $30 that will run Americas army. (I dont need great fps, just playable. 20-30ish.)

The 6200 Is the best you can get for that kind of money, it's not the greatest card though. It is sufficient enough to play america's army though, That game played at 1280x1024 on max settings with about 20-30 FPS on my old X300, so you should get similar performance with it.

Okay, well ill prolly be on minimum sttings at 800x600 :D

Im mainly worried about compatiablility.

Will that card work with that mobo?
Will that card work with ubuntu 6.10 (or whatever the latest version is)?

I dont see any motherboard problems. In a customer review the person said they got it because it was compatible with linux, so I'm guessing it's compatible.

I currently have it running linux. I want to know if it will support the Geforce 6200?

Thanks
Jake
