Based on what you've heard, what do you think will be the best performer?

I think that the R600 will be the best, especially after hearing about its "true" 512-Bit memory bus, with memory bandwidth exceeding 128GB/s.

from what i've heard.. the G80 is going to be released much earlyer tough.. It's like comparing tha xbox360 and the ps3 imo.
As for the poll... I vote for the G80.. because its the pioneer of DX10 chips

I don't like ATi drivers, control center is so annyoing, that's why I switched to NVIDIA. So... G80 ftw

Thats true, but they are both the companies latest technology, and we still have several months before either one of them ships.

So pretty much, everyone who voted nVidia had either never looked at the specs for ATI, or is just an nVidia fanboy :P

Because theres really no way the G80 would win by the looks of it now.

Omega: There's only one way to find out. You never know, the G80 might have something up it's sleeve.

But to be honest, I just voted for the G80, despite the fact that I don't know much about the two.

I didn't actually know that the G80 is going to be released earlier, though. If I could change my vote, I would.

The G80 is gona have something up it's A-hole...

By what I've seen from both cards, I think ATI's card will win.
The usual is that Nvidia comes out with the best card on the market, but then one week after that ATI releases an even better card.

Im excited

I must say that things look really good for ATi at this point, but they are indeed a little late this time around and I'm looking forward to what the G80 could bring. Although I believe alot can be gained from waiting until both products are out and thoroughly compared before investing so much money in a new high end card. That way you make sure you get the best performance for the money and avoid later disappointment. :)

Agreed, especially if I were in your shoes, since if I just spent several hundred dollars on an x1900XTX, I wouldn't want to have to upgrade for a while.

I'm 100% with G80, because it will be released much earlier, and at the time ATI releases R600, nvidia will release G81.

thats what i think too.. plus, its the first DX10 chip... usually the first one's arnt the best... but yet.. they are the first ones :)

Either one is going to blow your F'n mind when you play DX10 games later. So...who cares, we all win!

That said, I'm most excited about ATI's offering. I hope they are just bluffing on the later release and can pull it together to release almost with Vista.

I've heard that the G80 won't be the first true DX10 card, but it will be capable of DX10, since the new G80 most likely won't have a unified shader architecture, however ATI's cards will.

i've heard, rumor's say,I heard the brother of my friend of my cousin on my mothers side talk about.... :P bah, we cant rely on everything we hear :D
anyway.. well see wich one is better when both are released =]
