Hey guys, I'm seriously taking into consideration this camera. It seems to be a pretty good camera for the $$$ and has very good reviews on Newegg.com.

Now, I know there's a few in here that have it, could you give me some ups and downs?

Thanks! :D

I can't think of anything bad about it. Its a very nice camera from my experience, you can even buy a different lenses for it. It takes alot of learning, its more advanced than i'm used to :P

I have the S5700 that I got for xmas and I'm still trying to get the hang of it, it's a very good camera.

I just took these pictures with it, i think they come out nice :P

I'm not sure on the difference between the 700 and 5700 but the super macro function on my 5700 is great.

Here's one I took with super macro on.

I have the S700... you can see some pics I took with it in the Post your unedited pictures thread and on my deviantart page (in my profile.)

It's a good camera, BUT there are some things you should know. One is that purple fringing is pretty common and VERY annoying. :P Also, if you are looking for a replacement for an SLR the S700 ISN'T one. There are SOOOO many more possibilities on an SLR that I can't even begin to tell you them.

That's not to say it's a bad camera in ANY way though... I'm overall pretty happy with it and the Super Macro is definitely nice. The above are the only issues I can think of. As far as purple fringing goes, you can see how much of an issue it is by looking at the high contrast edges on my photos
