FTP access if server's on a WLAN

I have an older computer that's on a wifi 801.11b and I want to know if I can add FTP to it and access it from anywhere.

Specs for it:

PIII @ 733MHz
384MB RAM
XP Home SP2
8x CD-RW
ATi Rage 128MB
Linksys 802.11b wi-fi PCI card
40GB HDD

Kinda slow for me...somebody told me this can't be done, so I want to see if that's true or not.

I have been able to run a web server, FTP server, and remote control on Windows 98 so yes this is possible
