ok this is really starting to piss me off. how the hell do i share the program files in XP home?

You cannot share the program files main directory... make a share for each folder in programs files you wish to share.

PC eye... You could have said right click and enable sharing for any folder you wish to share. Diroga already knows this.

im trying to install fastpush and it installs into program files. i cant change the dircetory of the install. this is the errors i get if you can help

Does the installer have a custon install option? That is where the destination is selected/changed to even another drive and even main folder renamed.

well i could try to change the bat file. taht might take some time. maybe i should find a VNC client that doesnt install into that directory. but it worked fine on win2k.

If the custom option is there on the installer that would do all that for you. A manual edit could end up a mess if you are not familiar editing that software on prior occasions. But then you would probably need the installer to not only create the new folder(s) needed but the registry values as well.

there is not custome opption i would have to edit the 1210 lines of code to get it to install in a diff dir. new program time.

Ouch alright! Hope you have experience at writing new program lines. You would also have to verify that the correct registry values were created to avoid any hangups there.
