friends computer is slow at startup

Did virus, spyware scan theres hardly anything that starts up in windows. Dont know what else to do to help him. Safe mode was fast but regular windows is so slow takes like 5 minutes at that windows logo before you can even get the chance to log in.

Any suggestions im stumped?
 
What is the graphic card and the graphic adapter driver used on the computer ? It is a quite common problem that conflicts on graphic adupters make start up very slow.
 
Tell him to update all drivers and bios. Then cleanup the system using ccleaner. Then finish it of with a Defrag.

yea ill update all the drivers for him, not gonna flash the bios though its some hp laptop.
