Friends Camera

I was at my friends earlier, and he has a pool table, and he has a digital camera that can record video.
And its a nice digital camera. It 5x zoom.
He had his camera, filming, in the middle of the pool table, and he tried hitting a pool ball, and having it jump over his camera. He said the ball was close to the front of the camera. And he didn't hit the ball hard enough, and the ball hit the front of the camera. He says it hit right on the lens. There is a little scuff on the rim next to the lens. It turns on and off fine. He thinks the quality of pictures and video are lower now cause of it. But I thought they looked good.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

sorry man but there isent really much you can do if the lens is scratched this is what skylight filters are for so that you only have to replace them not the lens
some shops may be able to buff it a bit depends on the size of the lens tho
see if there is a camera repair shop near you of even a watch repares or jewlers they may have some helpful advice
but if the scuff isent on the lense then i dont see how it would cause lower picture quality

Yeah, the electronics are either going to work or not. You can't really get a lower picture quality with that... The only thing is if the lens is a little out of alignment, or if there is some sort of damage to the lens itself.
