Guru3d is now providing their own free driver cleaner that I thought some of you might be interested in.......

Guru3D - Driver Sweeper is a fast tool to remove driver leftovers from your system. It's very important to remove your drivers on a proper way, because driver leftovers can cause problems like stability and startup problems. You can use it if you want to update/remove drivers from your system.

Is this something like Ccleaner which should be run regularly as a cleanup tool or just a one time thing after you've removed something?

Seemed very quick what does it actually do?

I haven't tried it but basically it cleans out any residue files left when you delete your drivers. For those who don't know, it's common safe practice to delete your old drivers before you install new ones, rather than installing them over your old ones. Basically it eliminates the possibility of driver conflicts and errors and can actually improve performance if your drivers weren't already at their optimal.

You should use it whenever you update your drivers.

How to use ?
Guru3D - Driver Sweeper is very easy to use. You only have to select the drivers you want to clean.
The best way to clean drivers is to first uninstall the drivers using the official uninstallers, reboot in Safe Mode and run Guru3D - Driver Sweeper. However, rebooting and not going into Safe Mode also works, but can cause some files not to be cleaned.

What can it be used for ?
The current supported drivers are NVIDIA (Display and Chipset), ATI (Display), Creative (Sound) and Realtek (Sound).

All the settings are saved in an ini file. Nothing is created in the registry, so it's possible to use it as a portable program. Log files can be saved to the harddisk and viewed as well. You can find the logs under the Tools menu.

Usage of this program.

* Use the official uninstaller(s) of the driver(s) you want to uninstall.
* Reboot your PC.
* Use G3DDS and select want to clean. This can be done by pressing the name
and then the ">>" button, or to double click on the name.
* If you selected something you didn't want to clean use the "<<" button to remove it from the Clean list.
