forums are unusualy quiet

hasn't anyone else noticed it?

Everything just seems so......slow and quiet lately.

am I missing something?
 
Yeah a little bit. People heading off to school?

(Half the reason I posted was to make sure this thread wasn't to quite. :P )
 
Its summer. Wait for the winter or colder months. Thats when its busiest.
People gone now, vacation etc.
 
Most of the activity happens in the Desktop section, which I usually ignore because it's almost always "How's this parts list" or "Build me a $xxx Rig".
 
looking down the main page now, the majority of forums have posts with in the last hour. The forums aren't exactly inactive, however we go through very busy periods and more quiet periods
 
It hasn't been very busy the last week or so. As said, its most likely people are on last minute vacations before school starts back up or maybe there are less people having issues with computers. Users with infected computers have really been slow, they used to really keep me hopping.

Not that I don't disagree that they have gotten rather slow, but you joined in July, I'm not quite sure what your definition of lately is. I'm meaning no offense, it's just humorous to me. Have you been a guest before you joined?

I would sooner have people lurk and when they do post, they post quality rather than post often, and have it adding a number under their name but not actually offering quality content to the forums ;)

Implying not posting is a bad thing, and that I wrote that post based on post count, not on my opinion. Too much weight is put on those numbers.

Either way, I would rather have someone come on and post quality, relevant stuff than someone join who posts either random crap non-stop, short, useless responses, constantly goes off topic or is just generally someone who will post nothing that adds to the main part of the forum

I know that guy! Sadly, trolls are a natural part of a healthy forum ecosystem.

You get rid of one, and another takes his place. Or you run out of trolls and the forums die. :(

Seriously, one of the other forums I hang at awarded top poster status to a spammer... :rolleyes:

I've been doing a lot of posting lately as I wait for school to start. I really just have nothing better to do. But, it's not that fun when others aren't posting that much. I'm trying to help as much as possible where I can. I definitely avoid audio and cameras.
