For Sale: Pentium 4 3.0ghz (478) 800fsb

More than that. I sold a Celeron D 330 a while back for $40-ish plus shipping. Shouldn't have any problem selling a P4 for that price. Enjoy the easy cash.

BTW - what part of NJ?

Yea i think that is a fair price for that chip. Imsati i live in Hamilton, let me know if you are interested in my socket 478 board...i didnt consider it "no frills" so i didnt respond to your thread.

Hamilton = near Asbury? Or Hamilton = way the hell up there? Don't make it up either way too often, I stick mainly south of TR, venture into Brick every now and then though.

How much for the Board?

Hamilton is just outside of the capital Trenton. Brick is not far from me nor is Asbury. I'm looking for around 40-50$ for the motherboard. That being said it's in current use ha but if its something you are interested in i plan to move on soon and will give you first dibs. Just let me know!

you can find a cheap amd duel core for only 15 dollars more and its big diff in performance

Although the Pentium 4 you have is quite expensive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116027

AMD dual core @ 2.6 GHZ - 56 dollars http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103211

When I really think about it 40 dollars is worth it because the cpu costs a lot brand new even though you can find a cheap amd duel core

I'm sorry that you don't think it is a fair price. It's 50% of the cost because it's used, I feel that's fair.

That being said randomly comparing this CPU to a dual core AMD is confusing...I mean who is going to be able to buy a mobo and that CPU for even close to $39.99. I say this because it's safe to say most interested it's a straight cpu upgrade for them I'd imagine, even if it's a secondary system.

read the bottom line of my post

When I really think about it 40 dollars is worth it

40 dollars is worth it

is worth it

worth it

My apologies, I suppose after reading through your post my brain sort of auto corrected towards logic. I've yet to see many ppl put effort into a post that actually went against there original statement.

So how much for that P4? I have an old dell that I modded and I play games like Counter Strike Source and Quake 3 on it. It just has a P4 2.4

If you can find a faster better CPU for that price then i would go for it. To be honest i think you will hard pressed to do so though...
