If your on a tight budget, then the Creative Live! 24-Bit is a good choice, but if you have a higher budget, get the Creative Audigy 2ZS or Creative X-Fi.

The Create Live! 24-Bit(~$30) or Audigy 2 Value (~$50) would be very good choices for tight budget. I've used the Creative Live! and it was a pretty good card. And they both have support for up to 7.1 speakers.

well unless they're darn good speakers, you're not going to notice any difference after getting a sound card
