Firefox, 'stopped'

Hey guys

This problem has been affecting my computer for a long time now, but only recently has it started to get annoying, because it fails in between downloads such as the Windows 7 Beta.

In Firefox, after a while of browsing, pages all of a sudden no longer load, and it just says 'stopped' in the bottom corner. Nothing except restarting the computer can fix this. Also, when this happens, no other internet browser will work either - they all do the same thing.

And also, when i'm downloading something big, it just stops half way through the download. It's like there's some kind of limit to how much I can browse the internet before it just cuts out, at which point I have to restart.

What might be causing this and how can I stop it?

I agree 110%. Personally Firefox fell out of my good graces at Firefox 3. I downgraded and used Firefox 2.whatever for awhile but when Chrome came out I found myself clicking on the fox less and less until eventually I ended up deleting it from Add/Remove programs because it was 'rarely used.' Chrome is good for everything, just remember to check task manager if it fudges up. Their multi-tab system seems to create multiple chrome.exe processes that will sometimes prevent another Chrome from opening at times.

Just goes to show that no browser is godly anymore. Makes me sad.
