I have an HP computer with 512 mb of ram. And i'm wanting to upgrade to 1g, but I don't know what kind of memory it is and don't want to buy the wrong size, I also need to know the same about my mobo, b/c i'm wanting to upgrade graphics cards, and i need to know if my mobo can support pci-express, any help out there?

Download CPU-z (google it), and click on the memory tab. This will tell you your memory specs.

Be careful when purchasing a memory upgrad for an HP computer. We have hundreds of HP/Compaq Servers/Desktops/Notebooks where I work and they are picky on the memory you install. We've purchased HP Compatible memory upgrades only to have the computer not boot or blue screen then had to go through the process of returning the memory and ordering a different brand. We've had the most sucess buying the memory upgrade from HP or All Components.

How old is the HP Computer. If it isn't fairly new I doubt it will support PCI express video cards.

Go to the HP Online Store put in your Serial and Model numbers and look for available upgrades. You can get the part numbers then search the web for better prices.

Hope this helps.

Post the CPUz Register dump and we'll get back to you :)
