file sharing trouble

i have 5 pcs that are connected to a speedtouch 510 router through ethernet cable which i want to share files.

PC1 runs xp
Pc2 runs xp
PC3 runs xp
PC4 runs xp
PC5 runs 98SE

PCs 1,2 and 5 can see every computer but pcs 3 and 4 cant see anything. PC5 can access pc1 and 2 but not 3 and 4. pc 1 and 2 can access all the computers except pc4

i have used file sharing on pc3 before and it worked but now it wont but file sharing on pc4 has never worked or used before, all the computers have a working internet connection. i cannot work out why pcs 3 and 4 will not see any of the computers.

Anyone know what is wrong

yes they are all in the same workgroup and file sharing is enabled on every computer. any other ideas?
 
have you tried manually connecting? type this in IE url bar.

\\computername
\\local ip address (ex. 192.168.2.1)
 
i have only been able to try this on pc1,3 and 4

pc3 can access pc 1 when i manually connect and vice versa but pc4 is still completely unaccessable.

I still cannot access pc1 in my network places on pc3

Firewall

You might also want to check if thoes PCs have a firewall. You should try to turn any firewalls off just to make sure that isn't what is blocking other PCs. Also try a ping by name test.
