I'm trying to connect to my internet provider using thy ye old telephone line using pulse mode and when it tries to connect I always get a error message of no dial tone available. Yet the modem worked fine on my old computer.

I have a AMD64 S939 DFI Lanaparty UT NF4 Ultra-D PCIE motherboard.

what happens if you set it to the mode that isn't pule mode, i've totally forgot what it is, is it Tone dialling?

I still have a old dial tone phone line at home and haven't switch to touch tone.
