Fake Graphic Card?

Hello, sorry if it is long for i really need help.
I did have an ATI Radeon 9200 128MB graphic card which i really liked and had no problem with it untill I wanted to play the new released game of my beloved Resident Evil series,Resident Evil 4, It didnt't work and my pc would halt whenever it ws going to load the game mission(I could go in new game watch even intro movie and demo but when time of loading mission would come it would halt).recently i bought a graphic card which it is claimed to be GeForce FX 5500 256MB AGP-8X to be able to play this game.
However...it didn't work,and let's see the official report of what i have done :)
When i installed it in my AGP slot and then wanted to install it on My XP,the windows XP has identified it as ATI Mobility Radeon 9000-in device manager(My windows xp was last update via Automatic Update)-but anyway i installed the drivers from the CD acompanying the Card,(and after the warning of driver not certificated and choosing Continue Anyway),the program had nvidia picture in its install program background but i noticed the drivers it was installing were files such as atixx.dll ,... all "ati??.dll" odd eh? anyway,i installed the drivers from cd then restarted windows as wanted, when i logged on, a DOS-style window appeared running d:\windows\system32\atifaxx.exe after a few moments it closed and then i checked the name of card again in device manager,it was GeForceFX5500 odd eh?
But as i am curious i started to dubt about the orginal being of the product and guesed the cd was also an unoriginal program.
I did not know much about what to do,i started exploring the cd and after a while i opened the driver folder in cd and in folder 2kxp_inf and the file
c2_09814.inf and i found this:

[ATI.Mfg]
"NVIDIA M10 Series" = ati2mtag_M10, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4E50
"NVIDIA M6 Series" = ati2mtag_M6, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4C59
"NVIDIA GeForce FX5500" = ati2mtag_M7, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4C57
"NVIDIA GeForce FX5500 ." = ati2mtag_M9, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4C66
"NVIDIA M9Plus" = ati2mtag_M9Plus, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5C63
"NVIDIA M9Plus " = ati2mtag_M9Plus, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5C61

i am not much good at programming and other things but i guess the program was programed to act as nvidia Geforce installer,to install ati drivers for the ati card(claimed to be geforcefx),yet, this may be my imagination.

i dug up some more in google until something catched my interest: what are called device instance ids and hardware ids, i searched and i found out that:
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4C66...
is for Ati mobility radeon 9000-the code that is shown for my card at device manager-and it is in contrast to be GeforceFX5500 and it was not the end.
The Bios Information in card properties is BK-AMI VER008.004.008.000
and if i am not wrong it does belong to some ati cards and not an geforce fx.
My system speed was also decreased greatly,i noticed a program something like RMSTP.exe-not sure of the name- to using up to 90% of my cpu in a disorderly pattern.
There were also processes running in background like
atiptaxx.exe & ati2evxx.exe-you may say this is because my previous radeon
9200 installation but not;i did reinstall my windows.
Also in the startup screen when the graphic card's information is shown in summary, this card only provides a blank screen.
Here is my system information:
Main-Gigabyte 8IDX with up to 4X-AGP support.
CPU-Intel P4 1600 Fullcache(512 L2 cache).
Ram-512 SDRAM
HDD-Maxtor 60GB
Sound-AC97 Onboard
Lan-D-Link 10/100
DVDRW-Pioneer 16X
CDROM-Asus 40X
OS-Windows XP Professional SP2 Version 2002

i am very skeptic about this matter, maybe it is just my imagination plz help to know if this card is a fake one-i am living in a middleast country so this had a high chance to be true-,if it is fake; how i can prove it with definite logic to the seller.Thank You very much, sorry for this long Tread.

download programs such as ati tools, everest, pc wizard etc, that'll give you information on the card. Or, you can try taking the heatsink off the card and see what is written on the gpu itself.

Sometimes the name of of your graphics is printed on the PCB ( printed circuit board itself) I have yet to see a fake graphics card out there. :|

Yeah, there must be a conflict somewhere, I don't they people would purposely put in the wrong GPU and a GPU from a competitor at that. :P

I would suggest in future installing relevant drivers from the manufactures website. I don’t really trust what is on those CD's myself, and secondly the driver version on there is usually very much out-of-date

I searched more and contacted the guarantee provider, and they said it is a REMARK card and not an original one, that means my imaginations were true and that card was actually a FAKE one, they said it is done in China or other countries, they make cheaper graphic cards look like newer ones and an ordinary costumer would not even notice it.
I gave it back to seller and i bought a Geforce 6200.I hope this one will be better but still i have some problems with this one i'll discuss it in another tread.

LOL, that is why I feel very reluctant to buy anything from China when I visited relatives back then, although they are at attractive prices, i just don't trust there quality.

Wow.
China fakes.
Can't believe they would do with with a video card.
And the card doesn't even make sense, much less work.
