Failed to initialize(0x80000003), Help

My friend has made a private server for a game, but when i open the launcher it says - The application failed to initialize properly (0x80000003). Click on OK to terminate the application.

Is this something to do with connecting to the private server as its pre cbt just for gms(im gm), were trying to test. The owner can login but i cant, so must be something to do with connection, other gms are having problems too. Help would be appreciated! x
 
I would suspect something is wrong with your system. What operating system are you running?
 
Was using windows xp sp3, but now done a clean reinstall with windows 7 and still same error..... :(.
Also the error had something do with kernelbase.dll

Are you using any windows customization programs? If so, uninstall them and try again.
 
The launcher is usually EXE file and some of them need other file data such as DLL files in order to work.So if you have a complete installation package for your launcher,install it and try again because running just an EXE launcher file directly usually doesn't work because EXE file needs other files in order to work plus the registry informations (if any).

In any case,the installation is neccessary.Also some game launchers need the Direct X runtime files installed too.
