External PCI express x16?

heres the plan. An external PCI express 1.1 or higher x16 host device. I have seen several around, most notably was the ATI XGP, but that requires a high end ATI powered lappy, which my I3 and GT540m doesnt cover. I've also seen several that were Express card 54 based, but I dont have that port either.

The reason I am looking for one is because my GT540m is not responding, assumed dead, and Intel HD will not play BC2 or MOH for me. So I was going to use a GTX460 that a friend is selling for $45 to replace the GT540m

so, is there one out there, that can connect to any of my ports? (ports listed below)

1x VGA
1x Gigabit Ethernet
3x USB 2.0
(and mic and headphones and charger port, but I know it wouldnt fit these)

No.

I'm pretty sure you need a laptop which actually has external PCI-E support built in. I can with certainty say that none of those will take PCI-E devices through any form of adapter setups.

um... ok. thanks for the info.
So, the only way to recycle parts here would be to get an ITX motherboard and use the Proc, HDD and RAM and the 460 in its PCI-E x16 port?

short answer, they claim nothing is wrong, except the busted LED screen, which I told them about when I called, and its not connected.
