My brother ruined my 1st computer and its not booting properly. It just keeps restarting itself. Anyhow, I've researched on how to fix it and I've tried every option except reinstalling windows xp. I don't have my windows xp cd right now or the code unless its the code on the back of my cpu and I don't have the money to buy a new one right now. My friend gave me this old campaq computer that din't work. It was missing pieces and I want to try to exchange the motherboards to have another computer working. I removed the motherboard from the 1st one. If I put it into my other cmputer will that work?
I'd post a picture of thwe 2 motherboards but I can't seem to find my camera and my webcam is a little blurry.

Hold on. Before you do anything drastic like replacing the motherboard let's try and find out what's up with your current one.

At what point does it reboot itself. Is it when it's on the XP splash screen or before that?

I created a boot disc but I'm not sure If I did it right. I put it on a cd-r. I din't change the motherboards because they had different parts. I've tried all the options after pressing f8 it reboots itself after the windows screen. I can't get to the log on screen.
