So how exact is this program vs the others? Is it proven to be superior to say RealTemp/CoreTemp/Others?

I get conflicting results and would like some details if possible. Currently my room temp is 80-84F.

CoreTemp/RealTemp/Everest

Obviously I want Everest to be correct but its 2v1 here so can anyone clarify this? Is one proven to be 100% accurate or a shot in the dark and choose the higher temps to be safe? I will mention that Everest does appear to be accurate with other programs like Rivatuner/Speedfan/HDtune as far as temps in their respected areas go.

Thanks.

Realtemp and Coretemp have the right tjmax, the tjmax for a your chip is 100c, not 90c as everest is using, which explains the discrepancy in temperatures.

I see...I figured as much but wanted a second opinion as lets face it Everest looked better for 3.6ghz :P Thank you.

I use real temp, I like it.

Is your Q6600 a G0 or B3 stepping? A G0 has a tjmax of 100 but the B3 is 90c....IIRC

G0 but its not the good G0 it was the "new" G0 so not near as good of a overclock as the first set of G0 (aka low voltage overclocks )

Yeah there's G0, and then there's low VID G0's. The low VID's obviously were the better overclockers since they start out at lower voltages at stock clocks.

Yeah but the "newer" G0 don't go under 1.325v so I consider the first batch the "old" G0 has it was random and awesome.

I had thought about trading + a little cash for a low volt but happy with what I got for the price :)

Everest Ultimate gives about the same reading as PC Wizard (free) on about every system I've installed both on. Making Everest a waste of money.

Well I didn't pay for it...stole it from a friend to see if it was more accurate. Deleted it once I found out it wasn't.

BTW there a good program to get motherboard temps and what not?

Yeah I used it for a while but it started giving me errors all the time on startup, so I just chucked it. These days I just use CoreTemp.
