Ethernet Speed Problem

I have a few computers on my network at home all equipped with Ethernet cards capable of speeds of 100mbps they are all connected into a switch capable of supporting this speed. The problem occurs with the transfer speed, i believe that is working at 10mbps as i have never seen a higher speed than this, i have measured the transfer speed with Netstat and also looking at Window Task Manger networking tab which says 100% which should be 100mbps but isn’t. Has anyone else experienced this problem? What could be the cause and how do over come this problem?

All Advice is greatly appriciated

Thanks

So does it say 100mb/s or 10mb/s? If it's working at 10 then it would say 10... One slow device on a network will slow the whole thing down.

All I can think is to make sure you have quality components, good drivers, and devices that can handle full duplex.

yeh all the computers say 100mb/s which is why i cant understand the problem, as surley the transfer speed should the easly be above 10mb/s. Is there anything else that i should check or could do to speed it up?

Or forcing full duplex works...but you should check to see if your cards can handel that. I have found a few that don't, even 100mb/s
