But both of them get this messege saying limited or no connectivity? How do i fix this? i did unistall and reinstall i rolled back my ethernet network card to and i did everything but the ethernet hub wont give connection.

You need to assign an IP address to both computers. Something like 192.168.1.2 on one, and 192.168.1.3 on the other. Subnet needs to be 255.255.255.0 on both. Gateway is only required on the computer that is getting the internet(client) Though it might not even be required depending on how you share the internet.

Honestly, I'm not very sure what else to tell you as I normally don't share the internet this way. I beleive XP has some wizards to help you share the internet, but my real experience is with routers or proxy servers...

Windows will usually try to connect with DHCP, and the DHCP server might be turned off in the hub (if it even has DHCP).

Manualy assign IP addresses.
Also PING the hubs address.
Also try to do this RUN-CMD-Ipconfig

Is it a hub or switch?

I know the difference between a hub and a switch, I am just saying everything you buy these days are switches and not HUBs. Every retail router is a switch and "mini hubs" are now mini switches.
