Sorry if I have mistakenly placed this in the wrong sub-category. I'm not the best when it comes to figuring out computer-related problems.

So, I recently started up me PC, the usual day, hoping to play some games and do homework, long-story-short. I get a recovery error:

Your PC/Device needs to be repaired.
The Boot Configuration Data for your PC is missing or contains errors.
File: \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD
Error code: 0xc000000f
You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your PC administrator or PC/Device manufacturer.

I tried to use a Windows 7 Professional installation disc, but it didn't do anything, same with a USB.
The only thing I can do is run my BIOS and that doesn't help with anything.

Go back into the bios and verify that dvd drive is set for first boot device and boot to the install dvd. The first screen that comes up should have the option to repair your pc.

When I try to install Windows 7 on a hard drive that has 2786gb it says, "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the setup log files for more information. Now what? It did work, but I can install the Windows 7. Thanks for helping.

Sounds like you have a 3tb drive? Probably would use kill disk or dban to totally wipe the drive and start fresh. Its also possibl e that it's formatted as an mbr instead of a gpt partition or vice versa and having issues with that. What brand is the 3tb drive? If western digital you can use their diagnostic software to check for errors or if it's a Seagate then use seatools.

Did you install in EFI mode or Legacy BIOS? I'd try booting as one or the other, if you try to boot an EFI install as a 'Legacy' image it won't work.

Also, Legacy systems typically have issues trying to boot into GPT partitions. I'd make sure nothing changed as far as CMOS settings for boot order or try to force EFI or Legacy individually.
