EQ setup

just a general question how do you set up your EQ do you do alter it via software ie itunes winamp or by the hardware ie the subwoofer or amp?

if so do you max out the 2 ie bass and treble

I find for earbuds on my laptop I keep the setting on "rap" for windows media player. Funny thing is I listen to rock/metal

and my mp3 player I keep high at the 2 ends and lower in the middle, again with crappy earbuds

I think EQ should be set on 0. Stronger bass or treble adds much of noise into sound and this make sound worse
