eMachine T3990 / Graphics Card

My brother just recieved an eMachine T3990 and wants to install the graphics card he salvaged from his recently defunct H.P. I've tried to find install. (and Tech. in general) info from eMachine, but without any luck. Does anyone know much about that particular model, more specifically, how many total PCI slots it has, and whether or not it has a PCIe slot. I'd go rip the side off of it and look for my self, but distance and the ridiculous price of fuel prohibit such actions. Thanks in advance for any and all info on this matter.

i bet it doesn't have an agp slot. but open it up to see. And probably has 3 pci slots.

Has any one else had any problems installing graphics cards in an eMachine T3990 (or any eMachine for that matter)? I disabled the on board graphics (Intel Extreme Graphics II) and installed a PNY GeForce FX5200 (128Mb. PCI) into the PCI slot closest to the processor, put everything back together and nothing. The monitor just stays in stand by mode (orange light - no green). At first I thought the card may be trash because it just came out of a defunct H.P. 503n, but luckily I just happen to have an extra PNY GeForce FX5500 (128Mb. PCI) card (that I am certain is in working order), so I installed it, and the same old $#!+. Does anyone have any ideas about what special procedures might be required on an eMachine T3990. And yes, I did plug the monitor into the main (primary) VGA port in both instances. Thanks in advance for any and all info on this issue.

Hello? Anyone? The kind folks at eMachine's customer / tech support are of no use what so ever. So if anyone has even a clue as to why I got nothing but a black screen on both cards, I'd REALLY appreciate some input. Is it possible that the slot I was trying to use is dead on a machine that is (PRESUMEABLY) less than 2 weeks old (just something that I read on consumeraffairs.com)???

It couldn't be true, could it (sarcasm alert)?

Before connect your monitor to the new card, install the drivers of the new card, then using device manager to set the internal graphic card off. then turn off your PC, install the new card onto your PC, connect your moniter to the new card, restart it, before the XP show up, enter into the BIOS setup, set the video using PCI, instead of AGP. then the new card will work. But sometimes, this new card still can not work, so I have to turn off the PC and re-start it. T3990 is not a good PC.
