EL1331-05 / Power contact (button) failure

Sure its the power button? Is it dead, does nothing when you press the power button? Can you jump start it from the jumpers?

Are you sure its the switch and not something else? If so, its probably just the front panel power button. Contact manufacturer for replacement panel.

Thanks all for your fast reply!
I have attached a picture: the power button is located in the middle.
Usually, when it works, there is light (flash light when on stand by).
This button has a long history of malfunction. Someone who knows some computer repair, temporary fix it ( I do not how) . This person is not available any more.
The problem came last evening, when I put my computer on "sleep".
Today, I tried to use it, but nothing came up, so I decided to unplug the power and then plug in again.
Since then, I can't get power on my computer.
What option do you think I could get?

Can you remove the front panel? If so, there should be the actual button to press to make sure its the button that is bad. Are you sure its just not a bad power supply? We don't know the history of this machine so its hard for us to tell what to do.

OK, thanks.
It is an old computer........; those guys at service center charge 50$ for inspection!
The fee for the rest, is another story........!

Find someone that works on computers on the side, they charge less money and possible even free inspection.

If you don't feel comfortable popping the case apart, then like said find someone that does it for a side job. Look the model number up if its a OEM computer. Could maybe find a diagram of the case to go by.
