Anyone else super excited for the Ati-dx11-10.3 vs. nVidia-dx11-gtx4xx showoff? 10.3a drivers were released and show some impressive improvements over 10.2:
http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1253/3/ note- batman: arkham was the only one who didn't improve
I can't wait to see the official 10.3 drivers pitted against the new gtx4xx series cards. Who else is excited?

oooo, bezel compensation is interesting! it keeps the same eyefinity resolution (mine 2880x900), compensates for the bezels nicely, and doesn't leave any black strips on the side of the monitors. cool!

ok, so back to the topic at hand here:
anyone have guesses as to who will win at which benchmarks? bonus points: by how many points will the victor win by?

Web source reveals supposed TDP, SP count and pricing for the upcoming Nvidia "Fermi" graphics cards.

Website VR-Zone claims to have received what are supposedly the final specifications for the upcoming Nvidia GeForce GTX 480 and GTX 470 GPUs.

The site lists the following information:
GeForce GTX 480 : 512 SP, 384-bit, 295W TDP, US$499

GeForce GTX 470 : 448 SP, 320-bit, 225W TDP, US$349

Internal benchmarks reveal that GeForce GTX 470 is some 5-10% faster than Radeon HD 5850 and similiar [sic] for GeForce GTX 480 over the Radeon HD 5870.

If that's the case, goodbye Nvidia. The 5870 has a TDP of 188w, and currently can be had for ~$410. Who's going to pay for a card that costs more, is less efficient, and probably will perform on par at best with the equivalent ATi card?

If that means new video cards for people where they sell their 5000 series cheaper and I can upgrade easier, I'm all for it! :D:good:

if that data is true, it would be surprising. nvidia has had 6 months to make a card that beats the 5870. anyone know what they are releasing to compete with the hd 5970?

I think Nvidia will prove to be the top dog. They had a lot of time and I think that is why its taken longer for Fermi to come out.

Time will tell though. After their last driver updates though who knows :P
