Im looking at a notebook as mentioned above trying to help a neighbor. She installed 64 bit windows 7 home edition. I can not find the drivers for windows 7. She does not have the Vista disc. Any suggestions on where and do the drivers exist?
thanks
HP Pavilion dv2000 Entertainment Notebook

the big problem is no driver for wireless. cat 5 works well though for the internet.

which drivers do you need? And does the intel ethernet/wireless drivers work on it?

The best option is to get drivers directly from the hardware manufacturers.

Im likely off track somewhere with this. If i click on the wireless i can see all the wireless connections available. click on mine. put the key in for connection and says connected. click on explorer then can't connect. no connection. right now im confused. any ideas?
just don't know where to start, and looking for other options.
thanks

another note: in the system tray bottom right shows an exclamation. for wireless.
whats going on.

What exact model is it? The dv2000 has a wide range of models. Look on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop and give me the full model number.

there is not drect match on HP.com for that service tag.

under DV2000 it shows

» HP Pavilion dv2000 CTO Notebook PC
» HP Pavilion dv2000t CTO Notebook PC
» HP Pavilion dv2000z CTO Notebook PC
so, you may need the exact model of the laptop, either plain, T or Z.

As for the wireless with the yellow flag, that shows that either there is no woreless driver installed, or the driver isnt functioning.
Does it give you a wireless card model?

There is no service tag, that's dell.

dv2121nr is the actual model number of the laptop. However, there is no match for the 2121nr. Are you sure its not 2125nr?

Yes, vista drivers should work for windows 7 as well. Sorry for not getting back to you, had to run out for a bit.

all right. looking at it now. Sorry.
which one is the driver for the wireless.
I don't see it. See sound, webcam, bios etc.

i don't want to get involved in this mess right now.
the wireless and cleanup will work for her.
working on the basement. stripped, replaced 4"
trap, refinishing new carpet and don't want to play with it.
want it off my plate.

Don't retire.
working harder now being retired. At least when
i was at work i got payed for it.
