Dream PC Specification

Hi,

I am looking into starting a new brand of computers, laptops and tablets etc, however I need to conduct a bit of research before I jump into anything.

Therefore I would be grateful if you could let me know what your dream PC specification would be!

I am hoping that if enough people say the same type of thing then I will know the desired specification that customers would like!

Of course I will then need to look at the design and the innovative aspects of the computers.

I would be grateful if you could let me know your thoughts!

It's better to ask what would suggest for the price you want to sell them. If we would give our dream specs, the price will go above 4000$ and that's not what the customer wants.
Do you want to sell gaming pc's, budget-gaming, multimedia pc's, all-in-ones,...
Just give us a price and a category and we can help you with the specs.

I am looking to develop a brand sort of like Apple - so innovative and 'sexy' products that target the high end of the consumer market, therefore around $2000

I would love to do All-in-ones, Towers and laptops, however probably start with either the all-in-ones or the towers.

And if you sell it for 2000 dollar, how many of it will be extra for brand? Maybe a pc of 1800 dollars and sell them for somewhat more if you want to make profit.
 
Well my dream setup is along the lines of an i7 3770K, one or two 7970s, 32GB of RAM, a nice Z77 board, a 256GB SSD all in the NZXT Phantom case.

Yeh, he wants to sell very high end pc's all-in-one. So I was thinking of a pc, with features gaming, processing/video-editing/rendering and fast basic stuff. Making it now, but OP, I would sell it a bit cheaper, maybe around 1600 dollars with ~1450 dollars on the parts or something?
Most people will look at that kind of price range if they want to buy an high end all-in-one.

But again, that will never ever happen.

As for the setup. There is no one size fits all solution in computers. Have a set of options and let people choose the final spec list.
 
Yeah your side 1 PC is similar to my dream PC. Truth be told though, I love the PC I own now (see my sig). It does what I need it to do and it does it very well.

Not trying to insult you. If your going to make as you say, starting a new brand of computers, laptops and tablets. As in a business. But your coming to a computer forum asking about builds, your in way over your head.

You need to study current hardware and know it like the back of your hand from lowend to highend, I mean from different manufacturers and sizes from cases/motherboards/memory/harddrives/cpu/sound cards/power supplies/cables/fans/coolers and Operating systems.

After that build a few to get some experience for yourself/friends/a few customers. Then after that, then maybe, just maybe you could start a small custom build service. Then after that maybe, just maybe you could slap your own name on it. It will take alot more then as you say-a bit of research before I jump into anything.

This is what I was thinking when I first read this. You can't just say you're gonna start the next Apple. Start at the bottom of the food chain and work your way up.
 
Spend your time on studying things first.
You cannot one day just decide to to all that and expect to be able to do all that.It doesn't work that way.It would be great if it does,but it doesn't.

Take me for example.Today I have a lot of money,but 10 years ago I was poor believe it or not.I had a super small appartment and just enough money for food.But I spent every single day of my life studying and making new ideas and new things.I spent about 5 years on studying medicine and during that time I also spent another 6 to 7 years on studying hardware,software and programming.During all that time I worked in a hospital and later on E.R. medical service.Until one day I finally made a nice peace of software which many many people seemed to like and after I sold it many many times,I earned a LOT of money and today I live from that money without the need to even have a job ever again.Of course it took me MANY MANY MANY long tortured nights and headaches until I finished that software.While others were outside having parties and drinking alcohol,I spent my time on studying,making that software and other things such as building my small data center.And because of that I was a big freak to many people.But today I am rich and they are not.


So what I am trying to say is that what you would like to accomplish IS possible,but not so easy and fast as you would like.
So keep studying a lot and NEVER EVER pay attention on what other people might tell you such as:

-you are not smart enough to do that
-it's impossible
-you are not born for this
-you suck
-and so on...

Because you CAN do that.If you like what you are doing and KNOW it will make your success then never give up and keep studying and trying new ways and new things and ideas.Once day you will make it...I did.It took me MANY years and a lot of torture and many insolts from many people,but I just told them all to go to hell.And today I am so damn glad I listened to myself instead of them.
So you do the same and don't give up on something just becuase someone tells you to do that (whatever the reason they (anyone might say)).
You have the most advanced peace of device that is known to exist.It's called a BRAIN.

Use it... ;)

Whether this is appropriate or not... my "Dream Specification" would be along the lines of Skulltrail board...but it supports i7 and 32gb ram...RAID 6 of 3TB drives...and multiscreen over 8 screens. Or a setup that supports that, as I run many VMs, RDCs, Chats, games and browser pages at once. It would be ideal, if very expensive.
 
If you wanted to be like apple, you would have to develop most things in house, cases, etc. How much expirence do you have? You would need a lot of money to be a brand like apple, making the cases and stuff. If you want to be like cyberpower, start with 10 grand to advertise on websites, start a domain and host a website. Then have a few options for some desktops, and let people order them. It won't be easy, for a small business have a few people with you to help build. You could always start with ebay, but fees cost a lot and custom built computers actually don't get sold much on ebay.
