Downloading the Windows Messenger Service

It somehow got deleted from my computer, and I do not want to use MSN messenger. I could not find it on the microsoft site.

Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > Add/Remove Windows Components > Select Windows Messenger > Finish.

Neither worked. I don't know what the first one did, and the second one said I needed the WinXP Disk, which I lost.

You need to obtain a FULL version of Windows XP. I would suggest buying it, but I know how far that will go.

I use meessenger Beta. I've got a few invites, so if you want, PM me your email and i'll send you a Beta invite.

He wants the service which is only used in winxp. "net send" as many people use it allows one computer to send a message across a network. No GUI, no easy way to input the words... just use a command prompt. The service is called "messenger".

well, i did buy it, but lost the CD. I got a barely naked version, but I'm gonna get WinXP full, hopefully tonight. Then I'll backup files and reformat, all that good stuff.
